ACTING WORKSHOP
with MANAL EL-FEITURYTHE WORK
This workshop is designed for actors who want to deepen their connection to screen acting through honesty, instinct, and presence. Over two days, participants will explore a monologue of their choice while developing a stronger understanding of how they naturally exist on camera. The process combines creative exploration with practical industry knowledge, helping actors build confidence in both auditions and self-taping environments without losing individuality or authenticity.
An important part of the workshop focuses on casting identity , understanding the qualities, energy, and emotional tone you bring into a room before speaking a single line. In film and television, casting decisions are often influenced within the first few moments of seeing someone. This work helps actors become more aware of that first impression and how to approach auditions with clarity, grounding, and self-awareness rather than trying to force a version of themselves that feels unnatural.
The first day is centred around creating trust within the group and reconnecting to the body and voice through warm-ups, breath work, and guided exercises. Participants will then begin working through their monologues in an open and supportive environment, exploring truth within the text, emotional connection, and simplicity in performance.
The second day moves into deeper scene and camera work. Actors continue refining their monologues while learning the foundations of professional self-taping, including framing, eyelines, stillness, and connection through the lens. Each participant will film their monologue under realistic casting conditions and take part in a natural headshot session designed to capture genuine, casting-appropriate images.
By the end of the intensive, actors leave with filmed material, professional headshots, practical tools for auditions and self-tapes, and a clearer understanding of their own casting presence both on screen and in the room.
